Description
Packed with images, this 112 page volume was born of a simple premise: that these three amateur photographers, among others, have taken some fantastic shots that are only ever used for identification purposes, or to be viewed on a phone screen through Facebook or suchlike, without truly being seen.
Within these pages we get to share, in greater detail, the hard-won fruits of many hours spent looking out from Orkney’s coastline for whales and dolphins. More often than not, nothing is seen or just a glimpsed dorsal fin in the distance; but, every now and then we have amazing close encounters, especially of our visiting Orca pods.
Accompanied by informative captions, this book is by no means an academic volume, more a collection of wonderful photos taken by some of Orkney’s enthusiastic cetacean followers.
