Description
For any artist, whatever the medium, inspiration is everywhere in these northern isles: in the patterns of shells and rocks, the movement of water across sand, the colours of sea and sky, the shapes of birds and animals, the flowers in the grass, the lines of hills and cliffs, the farms and harbours, and in the cultural heritage seen in the many ancient stone buildings. Living here, it is almost impossible not to be influenced by the landscape and long history of people who have lived and worked on these islands for many thousands of years.
