About Us
The Orcadian Bookshop is an independent bookshop situated in the heart of Kirkwall’s historic city centre. We are passionate about all things books, especially our extensive range of Orkney-related titles.
In addition to our vast selection of local books, we also stock a large range of fiction, ranging from the classics to the latest best-sellers. We have a big well-stocked and inviting Children’s section, as well as shelves full of history, nature, cookery, and science to mention a few. We also stock local guide books, maps, postcards, souvenirs, gifts and bookish accessories.
We get daily newspapers, and are dog friendly!
If you can’t find a title you are looking for, please ask one of the friendly members of our team, either in store, contact us by telephone or via email. If we don’t have what you are looking for in stock, we can order books directly from our supplier and even arrange to have them posted directly to you.
We also hold regular author signings and story times, to keep up to date with our events sign up for our email newsletter, or check out our Facebook or Instagram pages.
